Minderoo Station, Onslow

MinderooDuraseal was contracted by Forrest and Forrest to design and install a bentonite sheet membrane to a 3500 sqm lagoon in the shape of a wallaby.  With a maximum depth of six-and-a-half metres it presented various challenges to maintain a waterproof seal.  Duraseal oversaw the compaction of the soil before the installation process began.  The membrane was then installed before a mix of sand and cement was applied over the top of it.  A final layer of decorative sand was put over the top to create the lagoon look.  The use of white sand in certain areas of the lagoon highlighted the water quality, which was crystal clear.
